Summary

This bill authorizes the state to issue additional dispensary permits. These permits would be for “independent grower/processors.”

“Independent grower/processors” under the bill means a licensed grower that has not had its permit revoked, has not entered into a merger or acquisition agreement, and is not otherwise associated or the same as another medical marijuana organization through a parent company.

The Department of Health would be required under the bill to develop an application form for independent growers to apply for dispensaries and review applications for a dispensary permit within 30 days of receipt. The application fee would be a nonrefundable amount of $5,000 and a permitting fee of $30,000 if approved.
